Registered General Nurses Study Team
Studies are conducted by our experienced Registered General Nurses (RGN) who have all previously worked for the National Health Service. They receive frequent internal training on updated company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Clinical Practice to maintain their excellent clinical standards. Our Nurses regularly attend specialized courses and presentations within dermatology at the RCN, local teaching hospitals and internally to ensure they remain experts in their field and specialized for their role in the company.
Study Management Team
Our Study Management team incorporates individuals specialized in Project Management, Quality Assurance and Statistics. A Project Manager will individually oversee your project throughout its duration to ensure a seamless process and successful delivery of objectives. Quality Assurance staff continually audit all clinical trial-related activities and documents to ensure the company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are optimized and transparent. Our Quality Assurance Staff frequently monitor data collection procedures and data management practices at every level of the study to achieve maximum quality and scientific excellence. Statistical planning is integral from the beginning of each dermatological study undertaking to guarantee the outcomes are delivered according to your objectives.
Medical Supervision
Our current Medical Director is Dr Richard Goodwin and we employ two other Dermatologists and an Ophthalmologist to oversee and validate our dermatological testing.
Management Team
Peter Dykes: Chief Executive Officer

Dr Peter Dykes has a first degree in Chemistry and a PhD thesis on the relationship between the inflammatory response and wound healing. Peter is a co-founder of Cutest and since 2000 he has been its full-time CEO. He possess extensive dermatology expertise having worked for 26 years at the University of Wales College of Medicine Department of Dermatology, which under Professor Ronald Marks, was one of the leading dermatology research groups in the UK. He has published over 80 papers in his career and presented research work at many national and international dermatology meetings, and has extensive involvement in the design and execution of dermatological clinical trials.
Dr Richard Goodwin: Medical Director

Our current Medical Director is Dr Richard Goodwin, an experienced Consultant Dermatologist both for the National Health Service and in Private Practice. Dr Goodwin is medically responsible for the clinical aspects of the dermatological studies, and for the volunteers’ health and safety. His accomplished clinical skills are of critical importance in the assessment of volunteers, both before, and during skin testing projects.
Victoria Rosslee: Head of Study Management

Victoria has a degree in Neuroscience from Cardiff University and is a member of the Institute of Clinical Research. Victoria is an experienced Project Manager, and heads up a multidisciplinary team of professional individuals to ensure the successful completion of every dermatological study project.
Bethan Williams: Head of Business Development

A graduate of Sheffield University with a degree in Biomedical Science with Business Enterprise, Bethan provides a balanced Scientific and commercial approach to this position. In addition, Bethan’s financial experience brings additional value to the commercial requirements of successful growth expectations.
Mark Lawrence: Quality Assurance Manager
Graduating from Durham University in Human Sciences, Mark worked as a researcher before pursuing his interest in quality management (ISO 9001) and information security (ISO 27001) management systems. He is a member of the British Association of Research Quality Assurance (BARQA) and is responsible for heading ICH GCP quality assurance within Cutest.
Cheryl Dykes: Credit Controller

Cheryl Dykes has been with the company since 1985 and has been involved in several secretarial and administrative rolls during her time with the company. Cheryl is currently responsible for the financial aspects of the sales and bought ledger central to the business. In addition Cheryl maintains the archive log necessary for offsite storage of all study documentation.

Professor Ronald Marks
Professor Marks is a world-renown authority on clinical dermatology and skin pathology and one of the founders of Cutest Systems Ltd. He is Emeritus Professor at University of Wales College of Medicine (UWCM), having retired as Professor of Dermatology at UWCM in 1998. He is also Clinical Professor, Dept of Dermatology at the University of Miami School of Medicine. Professor Marks has published more than 400 journal papers, over 130 book chapters, and 33 books, covering many facets of dermatology.
Professor Marks is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, Fellow of the British Association of Dermatologists, Life President of International Society of Bioengineering and Skin, Chairman of International Society of Stratum Corneum Research, and was formerly the President of the European Society for Dermatological Research. He has a specific interest and expertise in skin ageing and was a founder member of the Senior Skin Group of the British Association of Dermatologists. Professor Marks has operated as a consultant to numerous pharmaceutical firms, advising many on the clinical development of dermatology drugs.
Dr Jim Murray
Dr Murray has over 30 years experience in senior R&D and commercial management positions in the pharmaceutical industry. He was a co-founder and Scientific Director of Shire Pharmaceuticals, the UK’s leading independent specialty pharmaceutical company. He was also the founder and CEO of Hunter Fleming, a Bristol-based drug in-licensing and development company. Jim has been responsible for the development of seven currently marketed drugs, three of which are dermatological. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, and Member of the European Academy of Dermatology & Venereology.
Dr Jack Ferguson
Dr Ferguson has expertise in cosmetic product development, including skin care, sun care and claims support and substantiation. He has 28 years experience in the product development, manufacture and testing of cosmetics, including 15 years with the Boots Company in Nottingham and five years as R&D Director with Oriflame International in Dublin. Since 2001 Jack has advised Clearcast (formerly the Broadcast Advertising Clearance Centre) on support data for cosmetics’ companies advertising claims. From 2004 to 2009 he was a trustee of FRAME, an international charity active in the development of in vitro test methods as alternatives to animal testing.
Tony Pearse
Mr Anthony Pearse is a co-founder of Cutest and has a strong academic background in dermatology having served in the Department of Dermatology in Cardiff from 1974 until 2006. He has also been an honorary clinical scientist at UHW, Cardiff & Vale NHS Trust and Gwent Healthcare NHS Trust. Anthony’s research interests include photodermatology and photobiology and non-melanoma skin cancer.
